How we can support you
Practical, human-centred support for whatever you're facing.

Evidence-based support, tailored to your unique needs
At Havenwood Wellness, we believe that therapy should feel human, collaborative, and grounded in what matters most to you. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, low mood, or just feeling stuck, we offer practical, evidence-based support to help you move forward with clarity and care.
Every person is different — so your therapy will never be one-size-fits-all. We’ll work together to understand what you’re going through, what you need, and what kind of support feels right for you.
Our therapeutic approaches
We draw on a range of evidence-based therapies and tailor them to suit your needs, preferences, and goals.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
A powerful, trauma-informed therapy that helps you process and heal from distressing memories or experiences. EMDR can reduce emotional reactivity, support nervous system regulation, and help you feel safer in your body and mind.
EMDR may be helpful if you're:
• Living with PTSD or complex trauma
• Struggling with anxiety or emotional triggers
• Feeling stuck in past experiences that still affect your present
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps you recognise and shift unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours. It’s a practical, goal-focused therapy that builds awareness and gives you tools to manage anxiety, low mood, and stress.
CBT may be helpful if you're:
• Feeling overwhelmed by negative thoughts
• Wanting to build better coping strategies
• Working on self-esteem or emotional regulation
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT helps you accept difficult thoughts and feelings without being controlled by them. It focuses on values-based living — supporting you to take meaningful steps toward the life you want, even when things feel hard.
ACT may be helpful if you're:
• Feeling stuck or disconnected from your values
• Wanting to build emotional flexibility
• Looking for purpose and direction in your life
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT-Informed Skills)
DBT offers tools for managing intense emotions, reducing impulsive behaviours, and improving relationships. While we don’t offer full DBT programs, we use DBT-informed strategies within therapy where helpful.
DBT-informed therapy may be helpful if you're:
• Struggling with emotional regulation or overwhelm
• Finding relationships challenging or reactive
• Wanting tools to handle distress more safely
Mindfulness-Based Approaches
Mindfulness helps bring calm and awareness to the present moment. It supports emotional regulation, self-compassion, and nervous system settling. We use mindfulness gently and flexibly — never as a “quick fix,” but as a way to reconnect with yourself.
Mindfulness may be helpful if you're:
• Feeling disconnected or overwhelmed
• Wanting to slow down and find more clarity
• Learning to respond to life with more presence and intention
Schema Therapy
Schema Therapy works by identifying and shifting deep-rooted patterns, or “schemas”, that were often formed in childhood and continue to shape how you see yourself, others, and the world. It blends elements of cognitive, behavioural, and experiential therapies to help you break free from unhelpful life patterns and build healthier ways of relating.
Schema Therapy may be helpful if you're:
• Feeling stuck in repetitive relationship or life patterns
• Struggling with a strong inner critic or low self-worth
• Living with complex trauma or longstanding emotional difficulties
It’s not about having all the answers – it’s about having a space where you can be real, be heard, and begin to make sense of things in your own time.
